Charlie Chaplin

By laughing at me, the audience really laughs at themselves, and realizing they have done this gives them sort of a spiritual second wind for going back into the battles of life.
Emmett Kelly

Music and silence combine strongly because music is done with silence, and silence is full of music.
Marcel Marceau

If by chance some day you're not feeling well and you should remember some silly thing I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose as your clown has been fulfilled.
Red Skelton

I'm nuts and I know it. But so long as I make 'em laugh, they ain't going to lock me up.

Anywhere the Wind Blows is, then, a show that ends the same way it begins :
Once upon a time there was a clown… that will stay forever in our hearts.

Words at the Wind

There are bodies that talk,
As if of a redish nose, a child’s word was torn,
Whose ingenuosness
Was fused with twisted branches,
Where trees can arise along with the wind.
And if at random a tear is set loose
And the balloon is a star,
A moon,
A point of light
Where you look as far as the eye can see,
It´s because on the patched up bag every knot is deep
And every voice is a gesture.
May that men want to sing the dew while he travels,
Changing the form of birds,
And the earth
And the flowers,
Gently rock the din
And take over the time.

Sebastião Maresia

"After a long reflection over the application (or not!) of a nose, I got to the conclusion that for such exposure as in Manu’s case, I would need such a mask, besides that, it is also a tribute to the genesis of the hobo clown.
Manu was born on a hill, a hill where all beings participated with their wonderful reception. To all of them goes my dedication in “Anywhere the Wind Blows”. Nevertheless, just like the wind, in near creations, Manu will appear in other completely different places, physically distant from his maternal space, wanderers alike.”
Manuel Amarelo
